Aftershake ("we", "us", "our") operates the aftershake.ai website and SMS/WhatsApp contact processing service. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

When you use Aftershake, we process the following:

• Phone number — to receive your messages and send results back to you.
• Business card photos, vendor booth signage, and price sheets — to extract contact and vendor information. Photos are deleted after processing.
• Voice notes — to transcribe your personal notes about a contact. Audio files are deleted after processing.
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Email address — collected during checkout for account and receipt purposes.

How We Use Your Information

• To process business cards and vendor images and deliver enriched contact and vendor data back to you.
• To write contact entries to your personal Google Sheet.
• To send you SMS/WhatsApp responses with your processed contacts.
• To manage your subscription and send transactional messages.

Data Storage & Retention

• Business card photos and voice notes are deleted from our servers immediately after processing. We do not retain copies.
• Contact data is written to your personal Google Sheet, which you own and control. We do not maintain a separate database of your contacts.
• Account information (phone number, email, subscription status) is retained while your account is active.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate Aftershake:

• Twilio — SMS and WhatsApp messaging
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered text extraction and synthesis
• OpenAI (Whisper) — voice note transcription
• Apollo.io — contact enrichment (LinkedIn, company data)
• Google Sheets API — writing contacts to your spreadsheet
• Stripe — payment processing

Each service processes data according to their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

Your Data Rights

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@aftershake.ai. Since your contacts are stored in your own Google Sheet, you retain full control over that data.

SMS/Text Messaging Consent & Disclosure

By purchasing an Aftershake plan, you expressly consent to receive SMS text messages from Aftershake at the mobile phone number you provide during checkout. You may also opt into WhatsApp messaging as an alternative channel.

Types of messages you will receive:

• Contact confirmations — a summary of each business card or vendor entry you scan, including enriched contact data, a link to save the contact, and a link to your Google Sheet.
• Follow-up reminders — periodic reminders to follow up with contacts you've scanned (Annual Pro plan only).
• Account notifications — welcome messages, plan expiration notices, and upgrade confirmations.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on your usage. Each time you scan a business card or vendor image, you will receive one response message. Follow-up reminders (Annual Pro only) are sent at most once per day.

Message and data rates may apply. Depending on your mobile carrier and plan, standard messaging and data rates may apply to messages sent and received.

Opt-out: You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from Aftershake. After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further messages will be sent.

Aftershake will never share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. Your consent to receive messages is not a condition of purchase, though messaging is required for the service to function.
